Catherine Osborne, counsel to the firm, is a seasoned labour and employment lawyer. Before joining the firm in 2006, she spent more than 10 years as a partner in a major national law firm. A key focus of Catherine's practice is advising on proactive strategies to minimize employer liability. Catherine has a full service labour and employment law practice representing employers in the areas of grievance arbitrations, Labour Board hearings, collective bargaining, wrongful dismissal actions, human rights, and workers compensation. Her client base is varied ranging from mining and construction companies to employers in the manufacturing, insurance, public and non-profit sectors. She also has a regulatory defense practice, defending corporations charged under occupational health and safety, environmental and other regulatory statutes. She appears before a variety of tribunals and courts and has argued test cases in the field of human rights, occupational health and safety, and workers compensation. Catherine is a former prosecutor with the Ontario government and a former adjudicator under the Police Services Act.
